The Course – SkyRun
Leg 1: Govetts Leap to Govetts Leap via Pilpit rock
Description: from spectacular Govetts Leap, runners start by doing a 1km loop on the road up towards the Visitors Centre and back, to spread the field out.
From Govetts Leap runners take the Western Rim trail around the edge of the Grose Valley, crossing the top of Horseshoe Falls before reaching Pulpit Rock, they then turn around at this most spectacular of lookouts and return the same way to Govetts Leap.
Leg 2: Govetts Leap to Govetts Leap via Junction Rock
From Govett’s Leap runners head along the Clifftop Track to Evans Lookout, taking a diversion to Neates Glen Track and through the Grand Canyon. As runners proceed they find themselves in some of the oldest rainforest setting in the Blue Mountains.on the continent. Runners descend into the Grose Valley – past Beauchamp Falls and on to Junction Rock.
From Junction Rock, runners begin the ascent of Rodriguez Pass. At first they keep to the left of Govetts Leap Brook, but as they climb higher, they cross back and forth across the water until reaching the base of Govetts Leap waterfall, where the spray from the falls keeps the track permanently wet (and often people on the track, too!). A steep ascent up bush track and steps under hanging mosses, ferns and frowning cliffs brings runners back out to Govetts Leap and the finish!
Sounds easy right?
