Resides: Blue Mountains
Occupation: Visitor Experience team leader at NSW National Parks & Wildlife
Favourite Trails: Blue Mountains, Australian Alps, European Alps & Dolomites
La Sportiva Shoe Favourite: Loving the low drop & stack, narrow fit and amazing grip of the Bushido II’s.
Lou came to Australia in 2006 and continued her love for rock climbing by moving to the Blue Mountains. After dabbling in a few trail races she ran her first ultra (The North Face 50) in 2015 finishing in the top 10 women. After that trail running gradually took over her life!
Lou loves the places trail running has taken her and the people she has met. She has raced in Hong Kong, New Zealand, Japan, Turkey, Spain, Switzerland, Italy and France as well as one race in her home country of England.
Lou is proud to have twice represented Australia at the World Trail Championships, especially as she was mid-40s when she started running! Having grown up in London she is still amazed she lives in the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains and feels very grateful to have running and the trail running community in her life.
